Well, I have to say, what is most impressive about this video presentation is the sheer number of client web sites that TruBlu has generated. Even considering that WordPress customization can be rather fast and efficient when you know how to install and operate a WordPress site, the number of blogs / sites they have installed alone deserves to be revered. I wonder if any of the many sites shown in the video have e-commerce capability. If so, I wonder which extension they have found successful for a shopping cart or subscription billing in the WordPress platform.

      Hi Cassandra,

Thanks for your kind words. :-) We have developed a number of e-commerce websites in the WordPress platform, and have worked with and recommend E-store, Shopp and WP-Commerce plugins. They all have their pros and cons. Shopp and WPC allow for a great deal of customization but have some idiosyncracies that make it a bit challenging for a non-developer. E-store is a very good basic WP shopping cart that interfaces easily with Paypal and other platforms; it handles digital as well as physical products equally well. Estore also handles subscription billing very well. Another good option for subscription billing is WP SalesBuddy, but more recommended when there are one or two products rather than dozens to configure. WP SalesBuddy is a fairly new product, and we look forward to many exciting developments with that plugin going forward.

This sounds great, I will look at some of the testimonials you refereed us to and check you video that you attached before making a firm decision. But I am going to need something designed for my mobile marketing web page. I will keep this site bookmarked so I can return easily if I decide this is the way I want to go.

I visited your testimonials page like you suggested and it seems that you have a lot of happy customers. I am in the process of weeding through some prospective designers right now, like you said in order to get your stuff done right you have to ask questions.

Glad to see you keep SEO in mind when building sites. Too many people think, “if you build it, they will come.” But without good search engine marketing, no one will find it. WordPress is also a great foundation for SEO and an easy to use content management system that most clients will like.

It would seem that the helpful folks at the True Blus web design company not only design and develop outstanding web sites, but once they finish with the design, they do not leave you out on an island, so to speak. They also offer internet marketing services which would be the equivalent to building a bridge or a boat that can take people from the main land and onto the newly developed uncharted island, which is what any web site is until it implements web marketing to drive traffic to the web site.

I used to know a friend who traveled around the world with his wealthy uncle. I would receive mail from any city with a scenic worthy of being published on a post card. Sometimes I would get mail from some European country, which came in an envelope which had stripes on the outer edges. I think that is a European thing. I had not seen an envelope like that until I went to sign up for the Tru Blu free report and the opt-in form reminded me of my long lost friend. I am looking forward to that report with as much excitement as I’d have if I got a letter from my old friend announcing his arrival.

I loved the video it was a great tutorial of sorts. I am going to need someone to develop my web site design for a fireplace information article and forum. Is this something that you would be able to do and integrate it into a mobile site as well? Your article was put together very well and again I like the video touch I think I would like a video on my site.

You guys do great work on your designs, they are very functional and professional looking. Are they as user friendly as they look? I am looking for a new design for my established web site and I stumbled across your blog. I am glad I did because there is definite potential that I would use your company to do my new site. I have a little bit more comparison shopping to do but I will keep you in mind and revisit your site before I make any choices. Thank you for posting your information.

My thanks to John Flynn for his reply and for providing a very helpful run down of the pros and cons of the various e-commerce Word Press plug ins he has used. Unlike product reviews, software and extensions can be very tricky to evaluate and most reviews cannot tell you whether a particular plug in will suit your specific needs. I feel much better about trying a plug in that you or your company developers use to develop your clients’ web sites. I would much rather pay for the entire web site to be done for me, but for those who do not have the budget and a little bit of technical skill, the information John provided is the best starting point because he’s used these in real world scenarios.

This is some really good work you guys, I love the designs you have posted they are very unique and they have just enough flair to get your attention. I will be looking for a company to re-design my web site once I get the mobile part laid out the way I want it so then I will have them design that as well. I am going to comparison shop of course but I am going to keep your site bookmarked so that I have it for easy return because so far your designs have been the best I have seen I know they are the most original. Thank you for posting these and if you have anymore that stand out above these that you could post as well I would love to see them.

In expanding upon the topic of e-commerce plug ins for Word Press, is there one or two extensions you would strongly recommend for managing subscription billing? I would like to lean on your expertise regarding this matter. I have trouble believing the promotional text that accompanies each plug in. That is because it is almost always biased and geared not toward transparency, but rather to get you to install it. That being said, I would appreciate any feedback from other readers, too.

I noticed you had a link to some examples of your mobile web pages on one of the comments you made to a reader so I took it upon myself to check it out, and I have to say that I am impressed. If you take a established web site and made it into a mobile site this is what it would look like right? This is great information, you should make another blog out of these. You guys do great work and I look forward to your next post.

Good stuff you guys. Your portfolio is an excellent example that illustrates the stark difference between one click instant web sites, like the ones I have been seeing recently in television ads. Those seemingly magical “Easy Button style web sites are never ever what they advertise to be. There is not enough flexibility and virtually no expandability. It is basically a digital business card. So I am glad to see good old fashion, but state of the art, hands on web development. I know it is the spirit of entrepreneurship, but these days, there seems to be a so called automated web solution to everything…But some things should not be automatic.

You guys have done some great work, the video you put together and posted was done in a very professional way. How exactly do you become a web designer? This is something my son would be very interested in . My father has a construction business that I have been trying to get him to set up a web page for over the last few years just to try and generate more business, I am going to show this to him and try to explain how this would help his business again and see if this will help get through to him.

How should you make sure that the web design company that you are looking at hiring knows what they are doing as far as search engine optimization are there certain questions that you can ask? It sounds like you guys know what you are doing and from the designs that you show in your video you can tell you have been doing this awhile. How long have you been in the business of web designing anyway? I have not done any research on WordPress at all or squeeze pages so I am going to look into those before I make a decision to redesign my existing web page. I am seriously considering doing this but I wan to have my ducks in a row before taking that extra expense on.

I developed my first website in 1999. Since then have created hundreds of sites in just about every platform, but WordPress is my preferred platform. It’s highly optimized for search engines, extremely flexible design and just keeps getting better all the time. :)

My question goes out to John Flynn or any other developer at Tru Blu Web Consulting. What is your opinion about what is going on with the change in platform of the Joomla content management system? Specifically, the reports I have heard that the Joomla developers will be releasing Joomla 1.8 soon, which is causing a debate among Joomla users about whether those still using 1.5 should wait for the release of 1.8 before migrating their databases. This is an important issue for anyone who is currently using (or wants to use) the Joomla CMS because of the many nightmare stories I have read about in which people have tried to migrate from version 1.5 to 1.7 and have wasted weeks/months trying to get their sites to work without any success. There are some who say it is just not worth it to try and migrate to 1.7 at this time, particularly because 1.8 is right around the corner. Furthermore, 1.8 will require yet another database migration, thereby making a migration now, unnecessary, extra work. What is your expert opinion?

Hi Jamie, Joomla is an excellent platform but there have been migration issues… and from what we’ve seen with end users’ experience, it’s not nearly as easy to use and update as a site built on WordPress. There is a massive community of WordPress users and developers, so updates simply work. A business can’t afford to have their site down for hours or even days — can you imagine your site being down for weeks? All that lost revenue, leads, etc… My opinion — sincerely — would be to leave the Joomla platform and migrate to WordPress. I may catch some heat from Joomla evangelists, but in the hundreds of WordPress sites I’ve created, it’s simply the best. I hope that helps. :)

You guys have some really great ideas and some beautiful designs on your site. The video was very informative and when we finally decide to re-design our web page I will return to your site to do some more research before we actually make a decision. I am going to have to research this further because I will also be doing our mobile web as well.

The team at Tru Blu web consulting have produced a brilliant presentation of their portfolio. Most of the design portfolios I have seen on the net are web / HTML based presentation where you have to click on navigation buttons in order to see other projects. Besides that, the typical presentation is static. I never thought of using a video demo reel to showcase web design projects. It is so much more dynamic with sound and inspirational with music and visual effects. It is a very effective use of video which from what I know, is a great way to get high search engine rankings, when done properly. Great job you guys!

I think that long tail keywords not only slows down the amount of traffic you receive but it quite possibly will generate m ore sales because the people that u se the long tail keywords are going to be more serious about narrowing down their search for a reason. I think the geographical locators is another good idea as well because as you stated I don’t want to be in Garden City, Kansas and have people from Atlanta, Georgia getting a hold of me for service when I clearly can’t do that, now if my service is consultation then it wouldn’t matter where they are from. I really don’t think that this is relevant to just Cleveland Ohio, I think it will be used in any large city. I hope that you keep the information coming because I am setting up my mobile web site and I need all the help I can get.
